LEARN TO SEW and Make Your Mother Proud! 13/1/19
Did you watch The Sewing Bee on TV and wish that you could sew?
Maybe you did sewing at school and had a ghastly teaching that put you off or have you recently acquired a sewing machine but didn't know where to begin?
Well this one day beginners introduction to sewing on a machine will do the trick!
From winding the bobbin to threading the machine to learning about lots of useful sewing machine techniques to get you started. Starting with seams and hems, to buttonholes, applique and decorative stitching, its a bit of everything. We learn how to make a small envelope cushion and a lined mini tote bag and armed with your handouts you will be able to sew gorgeous projects to show off to your friends and family.
All materials are included as well as handouts and free beginner patterns to get you started.
Its a great fun packed day with a patient tutor Fiona Hesford (aka Sewgirl), whose aim is to inspire you with creative ideas as well as instruct useful techniques for making bags, cushions, clothes and homewares.
Maximum course size is 8 people and the class runs from 10am - 4pm. You will each have a Janome sewing machine to work on.
Tea Coffee and afternoon cake is included in your course fee, and everyone gets 10% off in the shop too on the day of their course!
Booking a place on one of our courses is similar to booking a seat at the theatre. It is not possible to swap and cancel and the "the show must go on". Therefore should you need to cancel your place on a course for any reason, the cancellation charges are as follows: Cancellation within 28+ days of course date = 50% of course fee payable unless place is re-filled. Cancellation within 0-27 days of course date = 100% of course fee payable unless place is re-filled. Sometimes courses are over subscribed so we hold a waiting list and MAY be able to re-fill a place, but if you are unable to attend you are welcome to send someone in your place. Please let us know your replacement's name, phone number and email address as soon as possible before the course date.
