Embroidery Pick n' Mix 'Stumpwork' with Kate Barlow 24/10/20

"A wonderful day spent at The Fluff-a-torium - thank you! Kate was truly inspirational showing us all the skills to recreate her stump work sweets plus the notes to take away were very comprehensive." Jackie H. Surrey

Who remembers their favourite childhood sweeties in a paper bag? : )
Come for a fun days' stitching and re create those sugary treats in stumpwork embroidery with our fabulous new embroidery teacher Kate Barlow.

Ribbon wrapped beads, canvas work, cord making, beading and surface embroidery combine to create these bright and contemporary stumpwork sweets. Using traditional hand embroidery techniques you will learn to make a cord candy cane, tent stitched humbugs, silk wrapped bonbons and beaded candies that can be mounted onto pink candy striped fabric or used to decorate other projects.

Everything you need for the workshop is included in the price, in the form of a little kit to make all of the sweets pictured, including the fabric and the hoop too. Kate also supplies an amazing set of instructions to take away which is invaluable! :-)

We will provide small embroidery snips and beading mats for you to use on the day.
The sweets are quite small, so students should bring a magnifier with them if they feel the need.

Kate was born and grew up in North Wales and originally trained as a costume maker. In 2013 she decided to re train in specialist hand embroidery and completed the 3 year Future Tutor at the Royal School of Needlework. She now teaches in the UK and abroad and designs and makes her embroidery kits.

Price : £95 with course materials provided and included, a full days tuition with Kate which includes an amazing kit and set of instructions to take away with you and continue with at home, drinks & snacks, and terribly British afternoon tea and cake! What could actually be better?

PLUS : You will also be entitled to 10% discount in our shop "The Fluff a torium" on the day of your Embroidery workshop with Kate Barlow.
