Christmas Wood Block Printing Kit : Blocks Set + 2 Fabrics + 2 Paints

Make yourself Christmas Napkins, Bunting, Decorations, Table Runners,  etc with our fun new Christmas Wood Block Printing Kit based on the traditional art of Wood Block Printing - but with a modern twist!

Print on our included fabric with the fabric paints provided. The only other things you'll need are some old towels and old scraps of fabric and maybe a piece of sponge of foam (optional).

These wood blocks are made for us in India. This ancient wood block textile printing craft is currently very much in vogue, and you'll see lots of hand blocked Indian fabrics being sold in the fashion industry right now :-) x

A bit of background and history - by buying these traditional wooden printing blocks we are supporting 20 specific block makers from Farrukhabad and Jaipur. They carve our designed blocks by hand - a skill originating in India during the Mughal era, that has been passed down through many generations. Recently families who have traditionally relied on tourism and tours have been hard hit by the pandemic, and they rely on this trade for their incomes. When our contact reached out to me I felt like I wanted to support them and was keen to get involved and have a go!

These traditional Wood Blocks are also lovely to have on display or hang from the tree after you've used them!  :-) x

2) 1 x Metre 100% cotton Pale Green Gingham 

3) 1 x Metre 100% cotton Red Gingham 

4) 50ml Red Fabric Paint

5) 50ml Christmas Green Fabric Paint

The blocks are carved from hard wood, and the parts that will print the design are painted white. Blocks can be washed in soap and water and left to dry naturally.
