Hand Dyed 100% Cashmere x 50g : Gilliangladrag Holy Fluff 'Smoke On The Water' (with FREE beret pattern)
50g Hand Dyed Cashmere Skein : enough to knit the Gilliangladrag Cashmere Beret!
Ahhh the gloriousness of a) CASHMERE (deserves to be typed in caps!) and b) this hand dyed yarn, cannot really be put into words. I'm very very fond of cashmere and earlier this year set out to source a great cashmere at an affordable price which we could hand dye in the studio. This particular cashmere is hand spun for us in Mongolia (see pics). It is then Hand Dyed here in our studio in Betchworth. :-) It is like knitting with butter, and is gloriously soft to the touch. Ahhhhhhh :-) xx
This is a pale grey background with tiny splashes of knocked back neon which just makes it so special! :-) xx The predominant overall effect is very much pale grey however - so it'll go with everything. And you'll probably need a matching cowl ;-) xx
*My free beret pattern will be emailed with every skein purchased!* (You're welcome! xx) You will also need 1 x 3.25mm circular needle and 1 x 3.75mm circular needle that are 40cm long + optional 3.75mm DPNs)
This is 1 x 50g hand spun, hand dyed 100% Mongolian Cashmere skein
Approx Double Knit weight with a variable hand spun 2 ply construction
Length: 110m approx
Recommended Needle or Hook Size: 3.5mm - 4.5mm
Approx Tension 10cm (4") square on 4mm needles = 22 stitches and 28 rows. (NB if you're knitting the beret this changes after blocking)
IMPORTANT : No two skeins are the same and the picture is an indication to the sort of skein you'll receive. There will always be slight differences between skeins due to the nature of the hand dyeing process. If you wish to knit matching items, or larger items, be sure to buy multiple skeins from the same dye batch / date. We will always try to ensure skeins are from the same batch if they are bought at the same time.
