Who will be teaching me?

You will be taught by Gillian Harris : author of "Complete Feltmaking"; Carnival of Felting";  "Felting Fabulous Flowers" and "Easy Stuff to Make with Fluff" and owner of The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium.

Who is it suitable for?

Everyone! This 2 hour private Felting workshop session can be tailored to your needs! :-) If you are a complete beginner that's fine, or if you are more accomplished and want to learn something more advanced that's also fine. You can buy this session in chunks of 2 hours, so if you wanted to book 4 hours, you would buy a quantity of 2 of these 2 hr sessions - and so on! Adults and children over 11 only please.

Where are your Private Felting Tuition Sessions Held?

Private Felting workshops are held 'in person' in our studio  at The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium in Betchworth, Surrey UK. (There's a map at the foot of our home page!)

Is there a Virtual Digital Version available online?

If you can't travel to us for any reason, we can arrange a virtual private class held online via Zoom etc. However, you would need to purchase the equipment we would normally use in class to keep (eg bamboo mat / netting / felting needles etc.etc.) but we would send you the wool you would need for the planned project.

Dates and times

2 hour sessions are usually held on a weekday during the day - or sometimes can be arranged at weekends, although our studio gets far more booked up at weekends.

We will endeavour to find a mutually agreeable date and time asap. If we can't then we will offer you a refund. Once booked - our regular Ts and Cs apply and it's not possible to cancel within 30 days of the mutually agreed date. We will send you confirmation of this date.

NB : We can only start to arrange a date and time AFTER you have booked and paid for your private session. If for any reason we can't find you a suitable date, then we can refund you. 99% of the time we organise dates that are mutually convenient with no problem, so please don't worry! :-) xx

What if there's 2 of us that would like to learn together. Is it the same price?

No it would be 50% more for the 2nd person to cover extra costs. You can still book this session and then we can invoice you for the rest. If there are more than 2 of you then please contact us for a bespoke quote.

What if there's more than 2 of us that would like to learn together. How much is that?

We would charge £50 per extra person for the 2 hours. (Maximum 5 students with 1 teacher = 6!) You can still book this session and then we can invoice you for the rest.

How many hours would I need to book to make certain things?

2 hours is sufficient for doing ONE of the following : 1) Wet Felting a SMALL simple flat piece of felt like a small wallhanging about 20cm square, or a small picture, or a small simple cushion front etc. 2) Wet felting a simple quick flower (like a daisy type flower). 3)Needle felting a small 3D shape. 4) Wet felting & Needle felting simple beads for Felt Jewellery 5) Patch-O-Wool Needle Felting onto clothes and up-cycling them with new designs. 6) Wet Felting a Nuno or cobweb felt small sample piece to learn the technique.

4 hours would be sufficient for most other options eg ONE of the following : 1) Wet felting a smallish Felt Bag or 3D shape, 2) Slippers (but you might need longer) 3) Cobweb or Nuno Scarf 4) More complicated Felt Flower and leaves (eg rose or poppy) 5) A hat 6) A larger wet felted picture with needle felted details. (NB: An extra 15-30 min comfort break can be added to a 4 hour session if required.)  

How much does it cost?

A 2 hour private felting session costs £100 and 4 hours is £200 and so on. This is inclusive of VAT.

What's included?

The session includes use of required Felting equipment for the session plus all materials, drinks & biscuits etc. and course notes. You would also then be entitled to 10% discount in our shop "The Fluff-a-torium" on the day of your private felting session! Wooohoooo!
