What? : Feltbroidery : Felting Pictures + Embroidery Workshop FULL DAY course from 10am - 4pm.

Where? : Our bright colourful studio alongside our premises in Betchworth Surrey. Free onsite parking. Map at foot of homepage.

Move aside "Brangelina" - we've invented another much better new word : "Feltbroidery" - featuring a top duo of our teachers all in the same one day workshop! Shamazing!

Learn Wet Felting and make a picture in the morning with our very own Gillian Harris - author of "Complete Feltmaking"; Carnival of Felting"; "Felting Fabulous Flowers" & "Easy Stuff to Make with Fluff" ....and then in the afternoon get taught to hand embroider exquisite stitches over the top of it with Livia Papiernik - who has worked with Alexander Mcqueen and is a part-time lecturer in Hand Embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework! :-) WOW! Livia is a mixed-media textile artist specializing in 'storytelling' through hand-embroidered art and installation, and works from her studio in East London.

NB: Maximum students is 6 on this course.

All courses run from 10am - 4pm.

Saturday May 4th : you can also join Felting author Gillian Harris for an immersive morning session on wet felting, where you'll craft a picturesque masterpiece using this ancient art form. Continue the journey in the afternoon of the 4th with Livia Papiernik from The Royal School of Needlework, unlocking the secrets of hand embroidery, and adding intricate details to your creations. Sunday May 5th : Dive into the world of crochet with this course the next day with Ellen from ByPollevie in the Netherlands, as she guides you through learning crochet skills to crochet a fun book cover, and incorporate charming varieties of flowers and playful polkadots.

This unique weekend promises a textile fusion of skill-building, artistic exploration, and the joy of creating beautiful, personalised textile treasures!

There is the option to book one or both days. For those attending both days there will be an optional group meal on the Saturday night (cost not included) :-) xx

What's included? All felting wool is included and there will be all equipment required for you to use on the day, including felting equipment, embroidery needles, a table clamp and a hoop. Also included are a small selection of different threads and silk ribbons for your embroidery, plus there is a much wider choice in the shop if you want to buy any more to complement those in the studio.

Refreshments will also be provided, including hot drinks, biscuits and then terribly British afternoon tea and cake! 

You can bring your own packed lunch - or you can nip out at lunch time to one of a couple of small supermarkets nearby.

You will also be entitled to 10% discount in our shop "The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium" on the day of your Feltbroidery course!

Booking a place on one of our courses is similar to booking a seat at the theatre. It is not possible to swap and cancel and the "the show must go on". Therefore should you need to cancel your place on a course for any reason, the cancellation charges are as follows: Cancellation within 28+ days of course date = 50% of course fee payable unless place is re-filled. Cancellation within 0-27 days of course date = 100% of course fee payable unless place is re-filled. Sometimes courses are over subscribed so we hold a waiting list and MAY be able to re-fill a place, but if you are unable to attend you are welcome to send someone in your place. Please let us know your replacement's name, phone number and email address as soon as possible before the course date.
