A fabulously classic simple matching mother and baby cardigans (or father and baby; or dare I suggest it mother, father and baby ;-) and grandma ;-) haha x ) with sizing starting at 0-3 months and going alllllll the way up to Adult 4 XL !!
Perfect for our new Malabrigo Mechita yarn, or any other sock weight yarn - taking care to check for the correct gauge.
The pattern designer says " Babies always need a classic cardigan in their wardrobe. They can wear it over a button down onesie for a semi- formal affair, or throw it on over a t-shirt for a casual tea party with friends! " And of course the same applies for mummies too! ;-) x
This cardigan is knit in one piece from hem to underarm, then fronts and back are separated and each is worked separately. Shoulder seams are joined and sleeves are picked up and worked to the cuff. Button bands are picked up and worked last.

Yarn weight : Fingering / sock weight yarn - refer to table in picture for yardage
Needles: US #3 / 3.25mm and US #5 / 3.75 mm; (or as required to meet gauge) circular and DPNs in each size : (40cm circular for small sizes, 60-80cm for larger sizes)
Gauge: 24 sts & 36 rows / 4” in stockinette using larger needles
Notions: stitch markers, darning needle, 5-13 buttons approx 1/2” diameter.
