Plump Super Chunky Knitting Pattern - Sloppy Joe
Looking for the perfect sweater project? Look no further! The Sloppy Joe pattern is a classic, and in our opinion, an absolute wardrobe essential. This jumper is crafted using wonderfully thick needles, bigger than those used for its sister pattern, the Chunky Boxy Jumper. However, the construction is beautifully similar.
It's knitted seamlessly from the top down in the round. If you've never tried knitting in the round before, we wholeheartedly recommend giving it a go, especially when working with such lovely, bulky yarn. It makes the whole process so much easier and you get to avoid any tricky seams at the end!
Our wonderful model Clara is a size 8 and she is rocking a size medium for that extra-sloppy, cosy feel! The pattern includes sizes (8-10, 12-14, 16-18).
To bring this sweater to life, you'll need the following:
- Mrs Moon Plump yarn: (7, 8, 9 skeins depending on your chosen size).
- The Sloppy Joe Knitting Pattern: This very pattern!
- 12mm circular needles: 60cm or 80cm length
- 12mm double pointed needles (DPNs)
- 10mm double pointed needles (DPNs) for the ribbing
For the Mrs Moon Plump yarn, you'll need 7 skeins for size 8-10, 8 skeins for size 12-14 and 9 skeins for size 16-18. Grab your needles, pick your favourite yarn colour and get ready to cast on!
You'll need a 12mm circular needle (either 60cm or 80cm long will do) and a set of 12mm double pointed needles (DPNs) for the main body of the jumper, and a set of 10mm DPNs for the ribbing details. These smaller needles will give the ribbing a lovely, snug finish.
The sweater pictured is knitted in the scrumptious Mrs Moon Plump Blueberry Muffin shade. Just imagine snuggling up in that gorgeous colour!
We can't wait to see your finished Sloppy Joe jumpers! Happy Knitting!
