100g Grey Merino Wool Tops for Felting & Giant Knitting
Dive into your next craft project with our beautifully soft grey merino wool tops! This wool fleece is perfect for both wet felting and the increasingly popular giant knitting or crochet. With its lovely silvery, mid-grey hue, it provides a classic and versatile base for your creative ideas.
This merino wool is 23 micron / 64s, offering a delightful balance of softness and durability. Each 100g bag contains approximately 4-5 metres of wool top, ready to be transformed into something special.
Ordering Information:
Need more than 100g? Simply add the desired quantity to your basket. For example, if you require 600g, enter "6" in the quantity box.
Important: One Continuous Length
If you would prefer your wool to arrive as one large ball, rather than separate 100g bags, please let us know in the "special instructions" box at checkout. We'll always do our very best to accommodate your request. Please note that occasionally there may be a join in the wool tops. If this happens, don’t worry! We will include instructions on how to neatly join it together when using it for giant knitting or giant crochet. (e.g. if you want 2 kilos of wool then please buy 20 lots of 100g but tell us you want it in a one ball in “special instructions” at checkout.)
Project Guide: How Much Wool Do I Need?
To help you plan your project, here are some handy guidelines:
Felting:
- Felt Slippers or Medium Felt Bag: Approximately 75g of three different colours. We recommend purchasing three 100g bags in your chosen shades for creating layered felted effects.
Giant Knitting / Giant Crochet:
- Smaller Cushion Front: around 500g
- Large Floor Cushion Front: approximately 1.75kg
- Small Blanket or Throw: approximately 2kg
- Medium Blanket or Throw: approximately 3.5kg
- Larger Blanket or Throw: approximately 5kg
These are estimates, of course, and the actual amount needed may vary depending on your specific pattern and desired thickness. Happy crafting!
