Introducing our gorgeous 100g Steel Merino Wooltops, the perfect fibre for your next felting, spinning, or giant knitting project! This beautiful wool fleece is incredibly versatile and a joy to work with.

Our Steel wool tops boast a lovely, sophisticated grey hue. Think of it as slightly darker than your average grey, but not quite as deep as charcoal. This subtle shade is incredibly elegant on its own, but also complements our other grey wool tops beautifully. We especially love combining all three greys when crafting bags or slippers for a cohesive, stylish look.

Ordering More Than 100g?

It's easy! Simply adjust the quantity in the box to reflect the total amount you need. For example, if you require 600g, just enter "6" before adding the item to your basket.

Want Your Wool in One Big Ball?

No problem at all! If you'd prefer your wool to arrive as a single, continuous ball rather than separate 100g bags, just pop a note in the "special instructions" box during checkout. We'll do our very best to accommodate your request.

While we always strive for a seamless length, please bear in mind that there may occasionally be a join in the wooltops. If this happens, don't worry! We'll include simple instructions on how to join the ends together, especially helpful if you're using it for giant knitting or crochet. For example, to order 2 kilos of wool, purchase 20 lots of 100g and specify your "one ball" preference at checkout.

How Much Wool Do I Need?

Here are some handy guidelines to help you estimate the amount of wooltops you'll need for various projects:

Felting:

Pair of Felt Slippers or Medium Felt Bag: Depending on the size, roughly 75g of each colour, we recommend buying three 100g bags in different colours, you can then create beautiful layered felted effects.

Giant Knitting / Giant Crochet:

• Smaller regular sized cushion front: approximately 500g
• Large Floor cushion front: approximately 1.75kg
• Small blanket or throw: approximately 2kg
• Medium blanket or throw: approximately 3.5kg
• Larger blanket or throw: approximately 5kg
