Who's the tutor?

You'll be guided by the brilliant Gillian Harris, author of crafting books such as "Complete Feltmaking", "Carnival of Felting", "Felting Fabulous Flowers" and "Easy Stuff to Make with Fluff", and the owner of our very own Fluff-a-torium!

Is this for me?

Absolutely! Our private punch needle workshop is perfect for everyone. Whether you're a complete beginner or have dabbled before, we can tailor the session to your skill level. We'll start right from the beginning if you're new to it. You can book multiple 2-hour sessions if you would like a longer workshop. Please note this is for adults and children over 11 years old only.

Where does it happen?

These private felting workshops are held in person at our lovely studio, The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium in Dorking, Surrey, UK. You can find a map at the bottom of our homepage!

Can I do this online?

If you can't make it to our studio, we can arrange a virtual private class online via Zoom (or similar platform). You would need to purchase the equipment we would normally use in class. Get in touch to discuss what you would need.

When can I book?

2-hour sessions are usually held on weekdays during the day, but we can sometimes arrange weekend sessions. Our studio is more booked up at the weekends, so weekdays are preferable.

We'll do our best to find a mutually agreeable date and time as soon as possible. If we can't, we'll offer you a refund. Once booked, our regular Terms and Conditions apply, and cancellation isn't possible within 30 days of the agreed date. We'll send you confirmation of the date.

Important note: We can only start arranging a date and time AFTER you've booked and paid for your private session. If we can't find a suitable date for any reason, we'll refund you. In almost all cases we are able to find a suitable date, so don't worry!

Once booked - our regular Terms and Conditions apply and it's not possible to cancel within 30 days of the mutually agreed date. We will send you confirmation of this date.

Can a friend join?

If two of you would like to learn together, it's an extra 50% for the second person to cover the extra costs. Book this session, and we'll invoice you for the remaining amount. For groups larger than two, please contact us for a bespoke quote.

Group bookings

For each additional person beyond the initial booking, we charge £50 per person for the 2 hours (maximum of 5 students with one teacher, making a group of 6!). Book this session, and we'll invoice you for the remainder.

What will I learn in 2 hours?

2 hours is enough to learn the basics of punch needle and get you started. You'll work on a small piece of Monks Cloth which you can keep, and the cost includes a punch needle tool for you to take home. The hoop you use isn't included, but you can buy it afterwards for £3.95 if you want to carry on using it, or you may prefer to buy a larger frame. You can use the studio yarns during your session but might want to buy more to use at home.

How much does it cost?

A 2-hour private punch needle session costs £100, and 4 hours is £200, and so on. This price is inclusive of VAT.

What's included?

The session includes the use of all required punch needle equipment for the session, all materials, drinks & biscuits, and course notes. You'll also receive a fantastic 10% discount in our shop, "The Fluff-a-torium", on the day of your private punch needle session!
