Using three skeins of Mrs Moon's delightful Plump DK yarn, you'll cleverly decrease stitches towards the crown, creating a stunning snowflake design.
Get creative and experiment with different colour combinations to make your Alpine Hat truly unique. There's plenty of yarn left over too – perfect for crafting a matching pompom. We’ve topped ours with a pompom made from Plump Superchunky for extra squish, but a Plump DK pompom looks just as lovely.
This pattern includes instructions for two sizes, ensuring a perfect fit for both adults and children. Imagine matching hats for you and your little one! How utterly charming!
What You'll Need
To embark on your Alpine Hat knitting adventure, you'll need:
- One skein of Mrs Moon Plump DK in each of three colours.
Our Colour Suggestions: The main photo showcases the hat knitted in Gooseberry (rib), Pistachio, and Pavlova. The pompom is fashioned from Plump in Pavlova. Alternatively, the second photo features Blueberry Muffin (rib), Bon Bon, and Pavlova for a different, but equally stunning, look.
- 40cm circular needles in both 4.5mm and 5mm sizes.
- 5mm Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) for shaping the crown.
With this pattern and a little bit of your time, you will have a wonderfully cosy fair isle hat.
