Supporting Artisans
When you purchase these traditional wooden printing blocks, you're directly supporting 20 talented block makers from Farrukhabad and Jaipur. These artisans meticulously carve our designs by hand, using skills passed down through generations since the Mughal era. The pandemic has greatly impacted families who traditionally relied on tourism, making this trade essential for their livelihoods. I wanted to help when I realised so many talented artisan groups were in need of support!
I've carefully chosen a mix of classic and contemporary designs. These blocks are not just tools; they are little works of art in their own right and look lovely displayed on a shelf when not in use!
Beetles Block Printing Set
Set no. 5 features 3 traditionally carved wooden blocks, each showcasing a different and intricately detailed beetle. They're really gorgeous, and I know you'll love them!
Features:
- Includes 3 x hand-carved wooden blocks featuring beetle designs.
- Beetles measure approximately 10cm tall, with slight variations in width.
The blocks are hand-carved from hardwood, with the printing surfaces painted white. Cleaning is simple: just wash with soap and water and allow to dry naturally.
Top tip: Our textile paints are available separately and are perfect for achieving vibrant and long-lasting prints. They look amazing printed on plain fabrics or our cotton gingham and stripe too!
