Grab a friend and join us for a cosy, hands-on workshop creating your very own Magical Lanterns Garland – perfect for adding a warm, twinkly light to darker autumn evenings, whether draped indoors or glowing gently in a sheltered outdoor space. Bring a friend, settle in, and craft your way into the season of candlelight, comfort and creativity.

Make something beautiful for the darker evenings ahead ✨

Join us to craft your own glowing Magical Lanterns Garland – perfect for adding warmth and charm as the nights draw in. In this relaxed and friendly workshop, you’ll create your own string of magical mini lanterns – each one wrapped in our vibrant fabrics (or bring some of your own if you fancy), decorated with pretty trimmings, and finished with twinkling fairy lights.

Whether you drape them across a mantle, wind them along a shelf, or create a softly glowing corner in your home, they’ll bring that lovely handmade warmth we all crave at this time of year. No experience needed – just bring your love of colour, texture, and a bit of seasonal cosiness.

It’s the ultimate feel-good autumn / winter make – and the perfect excuse to gather your favourite people for a morning of creative, chatty, slightly twinkly joy.

What’s included?

• Tuition from Michele Wilson to help you make your string of 10 lanterns garland
• A beautiful selection of 100% cotton fabrics in plenty of colours (plus some of our favourite prints from the shop) – you’re very welcome to bring your own too
• A string of battery operated fairy lights
• All other materials and trimmings needed
• Refreshments throughout the morning including tea, coffee and biscuits
• 10% off in the shop on the day of your workshop

And if you have any cotton fabric scraps you’d love to include, do bring them along.

Come for a bit of ‘me time’, or gather friends or family and make your lantern garlands together – it’s one of those mornings that tends to leave everyone feeling just that bit lighter.

About our Magical Lanterns teacher Michele

Our Lanterns Workshop is led by the wonderful Michele Wilson – warm, welcoming and full of creative energy. A primary school teacher with a love of all things colourful and sparkly, Michele brings a lovely sense of ease and encouragement to everything she does.

Mum to three teenagers and working in a school supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, she is also an Advanced Level Drawing and Talking Practitioner with a Diploma in The Arts in Therapy and Education. When she’s not teaching, she’s usually found making quilts and crafting all sorts of beautiful things at her kitchen table.

She’ll be delighted to welcome you to the Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium for a cosy, creative morning with fellow makers.

NB: Maximum students is 6 on this Lantern Garlands Workshop.
This Lanterns Workshop runs from 10am - 1pm and costs £69

Other Information & Housekeeping :

• There is free parking outside - you will be shown where to park on arrival. Please share cars or get lifts where possible! :-) Thank you. There is a map and full address at the foot of our homepage.
• Tea, coffee, refreshments are all included.
• You will also be entitled to 10% discount in our shop "The Fluff-a-torium" on the day of your Lanterns workshop with Michele.
• This course runs from 10am - 1pm. Please arrive approx 10-15 mins earlier so we can start promptly! You can look in the shop after the course.

Please note : By booking one of our Lanterns courses you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions, which are as follows:

Booking a place on one of our courses is similar to booking a seat on a plane. It is not possible to swap and cancel and the "the plane must take off!"
Therefore should you need to cancel your place on a course for any reason, the cancellation charges are as follows:

Cancellation within 31+ days of course date = 50% of course fee payable unless place is re-filled.
Cancellation within 0-30 days of course date = 100% of course fee payable unless place is re-filled.
(Sometimes courses are over subscribed so we hold a waiting list and MAY be able to re-fill a place, but if you are unable to attend you are welcome to send someone in your place. Please let us know your replacement's name, phone number and email address as soon as possible before the course date.)

You can buy separate Course Insurance Cover from various companies online if you would like to protect yourself against no attendance. (Eg : Cancelsure Insurance)
