Fancy diving into the colourful world of yarn dyeing? Join Gillian Harris for a private 2-hour session and learn to create your very own, unique skeins of hand-dyed yarn! Imagine knitting, crocheting, or weaving with yarn you've personally brought to life – the possibilities are endless!

In this exclusive 2-hour workshop, you'll discover:

• How to set up a safe and happy dyeing workspace.
• The vital steps in preparing undyed yarn before you even think about colour.
• The secrets to mixing dyes, creating stunning colours, and achieving beautiful effects.
• The crucial process of fixing your dyes to ensure lasting vibrancy.
• How to properly rinse and care for your hand-dyed yarn.

What's included in your yarn dyeing adventure?

• A personal set of dyes and fixer (worth £21.45) to use during the workshop and then take home to continue your yarn dyeing journey.
• 3 x 20g sock mini skeins to experiment with – yours to keep! (Additional skeins available for purchase at £2.50 each, and we also have 100g skeins and other undyed yarns on offer).
• A comforting cup of tea or coffee, plus yummy refreshments.
• Informative course notes to guide you.
• A special 10% discount to use in our shop on the day of your workshop.

We'll provide you with goggles, a mask, gloves, and mixing bottles to use during your private workshop, but these need to remain in the studio for everyone's safety.

All you need to bring is an apron to protect your clothes from any splashes. We also recommend wearing older clothes that you wouldn't mind getting a little dye on, just in case!

Who's the expert guiding me?

You'll be learning from Gillian Harris, the talented author of "Complete Feltmaking," "Carnival of Felting," "Felting Fabulous Flowers," and "Easy Stuff to Make with Fluff," and the proud owner of The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium.

Is this workshop suitable for me?

Absolutely! Our private yarn dyeing sessions are perfect for everyone aged 11 and over, from complete beginners to seasoned crafters.

Where does the magic happen?

These private yarn dyeing workshops take place 'in person' at our cosy studio next to our shop, The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium, in Betchworth, Surrey, UK. (You'll find a handy map at the bottom of our home page!)

When can I book my session?

Private 2-hour sessions are usually scheduled on weekdays, as we often host online tutorials or larger group sessions in the studio at weekends. However, exceptions can be made, so please enquire! We'll do our best to find a date and time that suits you. If we can't find a mutually agreeable time, we'll offer you a full refund. Once booked, our standard Terms and Conditions apply, and cancellations within 30 days of the agreed date are not possible. We'll send you a confirmation email to remind you of the date.

Can two people learn together for the same price?

For two people, the price will be 50% higher to cover the extra costs. Book the session as normal, and we'll invoice you for the remaining amount.

What if more than two people want to learn together?

We charge £55 per additional person for the 2-hour session. Again, book the session, and we'll invoice you for the difference.

How much does this wonderful experience cost?

A 2-hour private dyeing session is £110, a 4-hour session is £220, and so on. This price includes VAT.

Booking Ts & Cs: Please Read!

Booking a place on one of our courses is similar to booking a seat on a plane. It is not possible to swap and cancel and "the plane must take off!" Therefore, should you need to cancel your place on a course for any reason, the cancellation charges are as follows:

Cancellation within 31+ days of course date = 50% of course fee payable unless place is re-filled.

Cancellation within 0-30 days of course date = 100% of course fee payable unless place is re-filled. (Sometimes courses are oversubscribed, so we hold a waiting list and MAY be able to refill a place, but if you are unable to attend, you are welcome to send someone in your place. Please let us know your replacement's name, phone number and email address as soon as possible before the course date.)

You can buy separate Course Insurance Cover from various companies online if you would like to protect yourself against non-attendance. (Eg: Cancelsure Insurance)
