About Sajou's Retors du Nord thread:

Retors du Nord, meaning "Twisted Yarn from the North," celebrates the rich textile heritage of Northern France. This thread is a true testament to the region's expertise and tradition.

The term "retors" simply means the thread has been twisted to create a stronger, more manageable embroidery floss. This ensures a smooth and enjoyable stitching experience.

Each Retors du Nord thread comprises four easily separable strands, allowing you to adjust the thickness to suit your project. It's slightly finer than a standard 6-stranded DMC cotton, but boasts a beautiful lustre and glides through fabric with ease. We think you'll absolutely adore the quality!

A note on colourfastness:

For environmental reasons, Retors du Nord thread is not colourfast. The processes required to make thread completely colourfast involve harsh chemicals, and we believe it's an unnecessary trade-off for embroidery purposes. The thread can be washed at temperatures up to 40°C – just avoid boiling water or bleach.
