A Silkworm Kissed my Banana House Blend Wooltops for Felting & Spinning 100g
This is what happens when a silkworm kisses your banana (and your sheep!).
We've created a heady, silky mix with absolutely no yellow or curved surprises. Don't worry, I'm not 'having a banana' right now! The banana fibre actually comes out white. Interestingly, banana fibres come from the young shoots of the banana plant. These are harvested and processed until they become white and silky. Banana Fibre has been used traditionally in Japan and Nepal to make clothing and fabric for centuries!
Our sumptuous house blend includes:
- British Shetland
- British Swaledale
- Mulberry Silk Tops
- Merino
- and Banana Fibre
Think of it as a woolly knickerbocker glory!
This blend is ideal for felting, drop spindling, spinning, or weaving.
Each 100g bag is ready for you to get stuck into.

How much wool top will I need?
As a rough guide:
- Felting a very small purse bag: up to 100g
- Felting a small to medium-sized shoulder bag: between 150-200g
- Felting a larger bag: 300-400g
- Felting a pair of adult slippers: 200g
