Giant Extreme Crochet Bundle Kit: Peach Wooltops & Hook
Get ready to dive into the wonderful world of giant crochet (or extreme crochet, as some call it!). It’s incredibly popular, supremely satisfying, and surprisingly easy to learn. You can create stunning, tactile pieces for your home in next to no time using our ultra-soft merino wooltops. Honestly, the speed at which it grows is amazing. I crocheted a lovely blanket/throw/rug in just over an hour, and then I embellished it with wooltops pompoms, which were so simple to make!
Once your project is finished, it will keep you beautifully warm, and it looks absolutely fantastic. Think blankets, throws, cushions, scarves, pet baskets – the possibilities are endless!
This Giant Crochet / Extreme Crochet bundle contains everything you need to get started:
- 2kg of sumptuously soft Peach Merino Wooltops
- A chunky 30mm Bamboo Crochet Hook
- Easy-to-follow instructions on how to join pieces together
Just so you know, the amount of wooltops you'll need will depend on your project, but here's a general guide:
As a very approximate guide:
- 1kg merino wooltops "yarn" is about right for a scarf or a small cushion
- 2kg merino wooltops "yarn" is about right for a giant floor cushion front or a small throw or small rug
- 3kg merino wooltops "yarn" will make you a slightly larger blanket or throw or rug
- 5kg merino wooltops "yarn" will be enough for a large blanket or throw
Remember that the final dimensions of your creation will vary depending on the size of your hook and your crochet tension. I always try to keep my tension as loose as possible, as this allows me to shape the piece more easily at the end.
Care: Look after your finished giant crochet project carefully, and it will last. It can be prone to pilling, but you can easily pull these bits off to freshen it up.
If you need to wash your creation, do so very carefully by hand in cold to lukewarm water to prevent felting.
