Now, the amount of wooltops you'll need will depend on what you're making, but here's a rough guide:

1kg merino wooltops "yarn" is usually enough for a scarf or small cushion.

2kg merino wooltops "yarn" is perfect for a giant floor cushion front, a small throw, or a small rug.

3kg merino wooltops "yarn" will make you a slightly larger blanket, throw, or rug.

5kg merino wooltops "yarn" is what you need for a large blanket or throw.

Remember, the finished dimensions will vary depending on the size of your hook and your crochet tension. I always try to keep my tension nice and loose, as it makes it easier to shape your piece at the end.

Care:

A little care will keep your giant crochet creation looking its best for years to come. It can be prone to pilling (those little bobbles), but you can easily pull them off to freshen it up. If you need to wash it, do so very gently by hand in cold or lukewarm water. Hot water will cause it to felt, and nobody wants that!
