Working out how much you need can be a bit of guesswork, but here's a handy guide:

• 1kg of merino wooltops "yarn" is ideal for a scarf or small cushion
• 2kg of merino wooltops "yarn" is perfect for a giant floor cushion front, a small throw, or a small rug
• 3kg of merino wooltops "yarn" will create a slightly larger blanket, throw, or rug
• 5kg of merino wooltops "yarn" is plenty for a large blanket or throw

Remember, dimensions will vary depending on the size of your hook and your tension. I always try to crochet as loosely as possible, as it gives you more freedom to shape your creation at the end.

Care:

To keep your giant crochet or giant knitting looking its best, handle it with a bit of care. It can be prone to pilling (those little fluffy bits), but you can easily pull them off to freshen it up. If it needs a wash, gently hand wash in cold or lukewarm water to avoid felting.
