Learn to make a stunning cobweb felt scarf in a personal session with Gillian!

Fancy trying your hand at a truly unique craft? Join Gillian for a one-on-one (or two!) private session where you'll discover the magical art of wet-felting. You'll craft a beautiful cobweb felt scarf, made from the finest, diaphanous merino wool tops. These scarves are incredibly lightweight and airy, yet surprisingly warm and ever so snuggly. Be warned, though – cobweb felting is delightfully addictive! You might just find yourself wanting to make one for everyone you know.

We boast a treasure trove of over 70 different colours of merino wool tops, alongside a fantastic array of other fibres that add fabulous texture. The possibilities for colour and design are truly limitless. Don't worry if you're short on inspiration, we are bursting with ideas to help spark your imagination!

To ensure plenty of room to spread out and create, the maximum number of students for Cobweb Felt Scarf sessions is two.

Cost:

This 6-hour private session is priced at £300 for one person or £350 for two people.

You'll be guided by the expert hand of Gillian Harris, author of "Complete Feltmaking," "Carnival of Felting," "Felting Fabulous Flowers," and "Easy Stuff to Make with Fluff," and the proud owner of The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium.

Who is this for?

Absolutely everyone! Whether you're a complete beginner taking your first steps into the world of felting or a seasoned crafter keen to master the cobweb technique, you're very welcome. This session is suitable for adults and children over 11 only, please.

Where will the session take place?

Your Private Felting workshop will be held 'in person' in our studio at The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium in Betchworth, Surrey, UK. (You'll find a handy map at the bottom of our home page!)

Dates and Times:

Creating a cobweb felt scarf takes a little time, especially as we'll be making a sample piece beforehand. This private session runs for 6 hours, from 10am to 4pm, including a 30-40 minute break for lunch.

Private sessions are normally held on weekdays during the day, although weekend sessions can sometimes be arranged with plenty of notice. Our studio is understandably more popular on weekends, so weekday bookings are often easier to secure.

We'll always do our utmost to find a date and time that works for you as quickly as possible. If we're unable to find a mutually agreeable time, we'll offer you a full refund. Once a date is confirmed, our standard Terms and Conditions apply, and cancellations are not possible within 30 days of the agreed date. We will, of course, send you a confirmation of your chosen date.

What's Included:

Everything you need to create your cobweb scarf! All wool tops and comprehensive course notes are provided, along with all the felting equipment you'll need on the day. We'll also keep you refreshed with drinks, biscuits, and a proper British afternoon tea with cake.

As an extra treat, you'll also receive a 10% discount in our shop, "The Fluff-a-torium," on the day of your felting course!

Booking a place on one of our courses is similar to booking a theatre ticket. Cancellations and swaps aren't possible and "the show must go on." Should you need to cancel your place for any reason, the cancellation charges are as follows: Cancellation within 28+ days of the course date = 50% of the course fee payable unless the place is refilled. Cancellation within 0-27 days of the course date = 100% of the course fee payable unless the place is refilled. Sometimes courses are oversubscribed, and we keep a waiting list. We MAY be able to refill a place, but if you cannot attend, you are welcome to send someone in your place. Please let us know your replacement's name, phone number, and email address as soon as possible before the course date.
