The designer of this knitting pattern dreamt of creating a modern, unexpected twist on the classic Icelandic sweater. The Ninilchik Swoncho is the realisation of that dream – a delightful blend of style and ultimate comfort!
Shape & Style: Imagine a cross between a jumper and a poncho – that's the Ninilchik Swoncho! This pattern creates a jumper with a beautiful drape and a lovely 'swing'. It looks absolutely smashing styled with a pair of jeans.
Why We Love It: The unpredictable weather during seasonal changes calls for clever layering. This swoncho is your perfect solution. It's as snug as being wrapped in a blanket, but far more practical thanks to its clever construction and sleeves. We reckon this cosy piece will become a firm favourite in your wardrobe – you might even find yourself reaching for it all year round! With just two sizes to fit a wide range of body shapes, you might need to knit a few extra to keep family members from 'borrowing' yours!
One of our team has knitted this jumper using Scheepjes Terrazzo yarn – it’s got a fabulous fleck, is recycled, and comes in every colour imaginable! The pictures show her jumper in green and blue stripes. Ros knitted the smaller size and used 5 balls of the main colour (Cavalletta) and 1.5 balls of the stripe colour (Millennio).
Customisation: As you can see from the other pattern pictures, there's an optional geometric pattern, but you can also knit it in plain Terrazzo as well. The shape is just so wonderfully drapey!
