Bring a touch of French history and handmade charm to your home with our "Sajou Cross Stitch Cushion Kit: Five Queens Bedroom Cushion". This delightful kit allows you to create a beautiful red and pink cross stitch cushion, inspired by the exquisite fabric adorning the four-poster bed in the Five Queens’ Bedroom at the Château de Chenonceau.
A little history for you: this bedroom is named in honour of Catherine de Médicis' two daughters and three daughters-in-law: Queen Margot, Elisabeth of France, Marie Stuart, Elizabeth of Austria, and Louise of Lorraine. Our design is adapted from the larger Museums and Heritage pattern chart dedicated to this magnificent château. Isn't that splendid?
We believe that crafting should be a pleasure, which is why our kits feature not only timeless designs but also the finest quality materials, all sourced right here in France. This gives you a truly authentic taste of French textile heritage.
Here are the all-important details:
Size of motif: 185 stitches wide by 130 stitches high.
When embroidered on 12 count (per cm) linen, the finished project will measure approximately 30.8 x 21.7cm, making the finished cushion size around 31 x 22cm.
What's inside the box?
- A wonderfully clear, full-colour pattern chart, printed on a large A3 sheet.
- A generous 35 x 26cm piece of Azalia coloured linen embroidery fabric – perfect for your design.
- Two cards of Retors du Nord embroidery floss in colour 2028, providing you with ample thread for your project.
- A 35 x 26cm piece of 100% cotton "indienne" fabric in red and pink tones for the cushion back. Do bear in mind that depending on Sajou stocks, this fabric may vary slightly, but we promise, the end result will be just as gorgeous!
(Please note: you'll need to provide your own needle and cushion pad to complete the project.)
Your kit will arrive beautifully presented in a signature Sajou cardboard box, making it a treat for yourself or a perfect gift for the craft enthusiast in your life. We hope you enjoy stitching this little piece of history!
