Sajou Round Box Cross Stitch Kit: Flower Carnation Box
Delve into the wonderful world of cross stitch with our delightful Marie Antoinette's Pineapple Round Box kit, a charming piece from our Museum and Heritage Collection. This kit allows you to create a beautiful and functional keepsake box adorned with a delicate carnation design.
The delightful Tagetes Patula, a flower with roots in South America's tropical landscapes, is known to some as the carnation of the Indies. Introduced to France in the 16th century, French horticulturalists cultivated numerous variations, leading to its popularisation as the French marigold. But this plant is more than just pretty; this versatile and easy-to-grow flower can be dried and used as a spice, distilled into essential oils, and even used for dyeing textiles!
The design in this kit is taken from our remarkable pattern celebrating Tinctorial Plants in the Museums and Heritage collection. Embroidered using cross-stitch over two threads of fabric with two strands of Retors du Nord thread, it's an easy and enjoyable project, even for those new to cross stitch.
What's Inside:
- A 14cm square of 32 count (12 threads per cm) linen fabric in a lovely off-white hue.
- A card of Retors du Nord embroidery thread with the ten essential colours to complete the design.
- A cardboard disc and a piece of wadding for padding.
- A round tin (4cm high and 7.3cm in diameter) with a decorative multi-coloured stripe sticker to adorn the edge.
- A clear and comprehensive pattern chart complete with detailed instructions for mounting your finished piece.
Everything you need comes beautifully presented in a sturdy Sajou cardboard box, making it a perfect gift for yourself or a crafty friend.
Full mounting instructions are included, guiding you every step of the way.
Unleash your creativity and create a treasured heirloom with this exquisite cross stitch kit. It's a wonderful way to connect with history and craft a beautiful object to cherish.
