When you purchase these traditional wooden printing blocks, you're directly supporting 20 skilled block makers from Farrukhabad and Jaipur. These artisans hand-carve our designs, continuing a skill that originated in India during the Mughal era and has been passed down through generations. These craftspeople have been impacted in recent times, and your purchase helps them continue their traditional skills and support their families.
I've carefully curated a selection of both traditional and contemporary designs – some are so beautiful they could be displayed as art pieces! Each block tells a story of heritage, skill, and dedication.
What's Included in Set 4?
- Round Sea Anemone: Approximately 6.5cm in diameter
- Single Coral: Approximately 7cm high
- 3-Branched Coral: Approximately 6cm wide
Our blocks are carved from durable hardwood, with the printing surfaces painted white for clarity. To care for your blocks, simply wash them with soap and water and allow them to dry naturally. They’re designed to last, allowing you to create countless unique designs.
For best results, we recommend pairing these blocks with our textile paints (available separately). They create gorgeous prints on plain fabrics. Think napkins, cushion covers, bandanas, and bunting!
